Wie Ihre Mitgliedschaft hilft, Stan's Vermächtnis zu stärken
My father, Stan Dishong, made many substantial contributions to American Motorcycling, from 1948 through 2008.
My father dedicated his entire life to Classic American Motorcycling. He was so committed that he was a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Association (AMA). He cared very deeply for preserving American Motorcycling. As a result, in 2006, my sister Jeanette and I wrote an application to the AMA to induct him into their Hall of Fame. He was excited at the thought of the AMA awarding him that level of recognition. Unfortunately the AMA declined the application, stating his contributions were regional, not national. That result was my fault. I did not do enough research nor did I locate enough evidence to document his national impact on American motorcycling.
My Dad passed away in 2008 and my sister in 2010. I’m the last one remaining to tell his story and, with your help, I’d like to develop a new, complete and powerful application to successfully induct Stan into the AMA Hall of Fame. Your membership dues will help us travel to important sites where Stan raced, help us research magazine and newspaper archives of his achievements, forge alliances with those who have already succeeded in being inducted into the Hall of Fame and engage the services of a professional writer to put it all together.
It is only with YOUR help that we can do all these things. Thank you so much for keeping my Father’s memory alive!
